Ainslie (Wallis) Donaldson –
After finishing Year 10 at Mundubbera, I set off to Ipswich Girls Grammar School for Years 11 and 12. In year 12, I was voted in prefect, which was a great honour and I also represented the school in Tennis. My boarding school days were very enjoyable (except for the food) and met some great friends, which we regularly keep in contact today.
After finishing Year 12 I set off for Brisbane, living in a house with a school friend. I enrolled into Lorraine Martin and did a Diploma in Office Administration. On completing my course, I worked for 2 ½ years in Brisbane with a Gem Merchant company.
In 1993, I married Scott Donaldson in Mundubbera and of course where else would you have your reception but the “Shire Hall”. I then moved to our new property “Coorong” which is between North Star and Warialda in New South Wales. On our property we grow Cereal Crops, Chickpeas and Sorghum. After settling into married life and a new area I took on a position with an Agricultural Consultancy team in Croppa Creek for three years, until we decided to start a family. We have 3 boys Sam (8), Jake (6), and Will (3). Life is quite busy with Sam and Jake attending North Star Public School and Will at a mobile preschool. Most of our weekends are taken up by traveling to many sporting events, which are usually an hour’s drive.
Hope you all have a great weekend and hope to will see you all at the next reunion.

Gavin Wernecke –
Gavin has been working since finishing school . He is an earth moving contractor. After his father passed away in late 2003, he moved to Clermont and worked some time. He then decided he wanted to take over the family earth moving business. Business is doing well for him and since has bought the property on Dykehead Road in November of 2005. On the 27th January of 2006, Gavin and partner Kellie welcomed the arrival of their daughter Ivy Rae Wernecke. Luke has now a little sister and thinks is the best thing since sliced bread!!!!

Patricia Wilcocks –
Was in Sydney for 9 years and worked in a pharmacy, now back in mundubbera at Zippy’s Foodstore.

Angela (Young) Nicholas –
I cannot believe it is 20 years since we all left year 10! I am married to Steve and have two lovely children: Ella Rose (4) and Henry Carter (6 months). We live in Yeronga, Brisbane and I am a full time mother, spending my time at Kindy (where Ella attends and I am President), doing craft, playgroup, children’s birthday parties, swimming and dance lessons (for the children of course!)
I am currently on maternity leave (for about 18 months) from my part time job as Client manager with the Investment Attraction team with the Queensland Department of State Development. Prior to moving to Brisbane about five years ago, Steve and I lived in Melbourne (3 years) and Canberra (5 years). We met in Canberra and were married in Toowoomba in January 1998. I also lived and worked in Singapore on a business exchange program in 2000. I studied at the university of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba (after year 12) and later at Monash University when we lived in Melbourne.
Steve (who is originally from Millmerran on the Darling Downs) is a Financial Planner working in the City.

Chris Stafford, John Taylor, Camille (Vicary) Curtis, Jasen Wain

Chris Stafford-
After completing Year 12 at Toowoomba Grammar School, Chris completed an Associate Diploma in Recreation at Griffith University. At the end of the two years he applied to the Police Force for intake of the first cadets who had a Tertiary Qualification. After a further year of study, he graduated as a Constable and was appointed to Ashgrove Station. In November, 1992, during his time at Ashgrove, he married Jane Locke whom he had met while at Griffith Uni. Jane's family were from Mackay and when a vacancy came up in Mackay, Chris applied.
They moved to Mackay in 1994 and their first child, Jack, was born in 1995. While in Mackay, Chris became very interested in Community Policing and youth work in particular. While in Mackay, Jane worked for Suncorp who offered her a good job in Brisbane so they moved back to Brisbane and now live at Ashgrove. Chris continued his study, is now a Sergeant and works for the Police Citizen'sYouth Clubs. He is the Program and Grants Coordinator and has a hands on job with all the PCYCs throughout the state.
In 2000, their second child, Sophie, was born and both children now attend school at Our Lady of Assumption Convent at Enoggera. In his job, Chris is based at Lutwyche and Jane works in the city. Like all young families they are very busy, Chris travels quite a bit with his job and is involved with a swimming club where he and his children swim and he is the referee and now Jack has begun playing basket ball as well.
He has just done big renovations on his Queenslander at Ashgrove and has no plans to move

John Taylor – Living in Mundubbera, married and about to have no 2 Child.

Camille (Vicary) Curtis –
After Yr 10 at Mundubbera I went to Downlands College, Toowoomba for my senior schooling. I had a real struggle choosing what area to study in because my interests were far too varied. I liked the idea of everything from archeologist to physio & the list goes on! I started a Science degree to keep a few options open, but changed to teaching, majoring in Special Education. I worked in a range of special ed positions in Gladstone for 6 years & it was there that I met my husband Paul. We were married in 1999 and then spent the year of a lifetime traveling through parts of Asia, Western Europe, Canada & Hawaii. We settled on the Gold Coast and have two little darlings that keep us busy & very happy - Lauren, 5 & Patrick, 2 and a half. We found them to be a pretty quick cure for the wanderlust! (although now we are always on the lookout for good travel opportunities for families - maybe an overseas exchange one day?)
Paul works in the construction industry, mainly with cranes & is a keen scuba diver & water person. I'm working 2 days/wk at the Mudgeeraba Special School, where I've been on & off leave since Lauren was born. I really enjoy teaching but also love being able to spend more time with the swimming, gymnastics, playgroup & activities that the kids do. I must admit, it's pretty good when I can also fit in a bit of time during the week for my own play - netball & a bit of swimming at present & a lot of unfinished projects. We live at Currumbin at the Gold Coast.

Jasen Wain –
After I left school I went to Birdsville to work for a season at Arraby Station. I returned to Mundubbera and got a job looking after the irrigation at Redfarm. I worked my way up to a formans position and then into management as the Development Manager for the Golden Mile Orchards and Australian Food & Fibre. I got married and then divorced and have been in a happy relationship with my partner, Lisa for the past 13 years. We have 3 great kids, Cory 17, Chantelle 13 and Ethan 10. Along the way we purchased several cattle properties around mundubbera and I now work full time on my own property.

Marleen (Seth) Markey -
I attended school in Mundubbera from July 1983 (year 7) until the completion of year 10 in 1986. I completed year 11 and 12 at Gayndah State High School. After completing year 12, I worked for the National Australia Bank in Hervey Bay for twelve months. After that twelve months I returned to studying and completed a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and Banking & Finance at USQ in Toowoomba. Professionally I worked as the Management Accountant for Heritage Building Society Limited and during that time completed my CPA qualifications.
My husband Errol and I were married in Mundubbera in April 1993, and we still continue to call Toowoomba home. Errol is an electrician by trade and is currently the Production Manager of a polystyrene manufacturing plant. I am currently a stay at home mum. We have three beautiful boys William 7, Thomas 5, and Nicholas 3. William is in Grade 2 and Thomas is in Prep at St Saviour's Primary School. Nicholas and I have a good social life and we are enjoying our time at home together.
My parents, Fred and Christine Seth and my sister, Monica still live in Mundubbera. My brother David lives with his family in Brisbane.
mamarkey@optusnet.com.au

Kris (Slater) Bradshaw –
I attended Mundubbera State High School from 1984-1986 (Year 8-10). On completion of Year 10, my father became ill quite suddenly and it was necessary for my family to move to Brisbane. I completed Year 11 and 12 in Brisbane and then went on to complete two degrees - Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Queensland. In between study, I travelled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. In 2000, I met me future husband, Andrew, and we married in 2003. I am currently working for QLD Health - Redcliffe Community Health Centre, as a Social Worker - I work with children, young people and families on a range of issues, and have a particular interest in supporting women (and their families) experiencing Postnatal Depression. I've come to the conclusion that I must miss country life, as we are now living on acreage on the outskirts of Brisbane

Clinton Smith -
Worked in Mundubbera Butcher shop then Tumit Orchards. Partner is Kylie Foran and have Scott (gr 8), Tyler (gr6) and Just had twin girls 2nd April Lanie Dawn & Marnie Leslie. (editors notes)

Jason Smyth –
I left Mundubbera in 1986 after completing primary school at Mundubbera State School and Year 10 at Mundubbera State High School. I moved to Rockhampton where I completed Year 12 while boarding at the Rockhampton Grammar School. When I finished school I studied in Rockhampton at the Central Queensland University obtaining my Bachelor of Business Degree. After finishing Uni, I began working in the Banking Industry from 1993-1996 and now continue working in the same field, however I have moved to business banking and commercial leasing. I have been with business banking for the last ten years and really enjoy it. Coming from a small town has proved to be a great advantage as most of our major clients are from rural areas.
In 1992 I met my wife Melissa, who is a local of Rocky (I’m still not classed as a local – it’s not been 20 years yet!) and we married at St Joseph’s Cathedral in Rockhampton in 1995. We built our first home in Gracemere and moved in that same year. We had our first child, a daughter Martha in 1997. After that our first son, named Thomas was born in 1999, then came William in 2001 and finally – and I mean finally, our fourth child, a daughter Bridget was born in 2003!
As you can imagine the last nine years has at times flown by and at other times (like five nights in a row of being up with sick children) dragged slowly by! The kids are now aged 2, 4, 6 and 8 years and I think most people, including their Mum, agree look pretty much like their Dad (poor kids!).
We still live in Gracemere and last year began our own business, “Picture Perfect Jewellery” which is taking up almost all of our time at the moment. We try to get back to Mundubbera a couple of times a year. The kids just love to visit Grandma and Poppa and love to go out on the farm. Now that the children are at school and have so many after school activities and lessons it’s hard to find the right weekend.
I hope that everyone is having a great time and that at least everyone is still recognizable to each other – if not, I hope it’s a change for the better! Time does do crazy things! Good luck and have fun!

Tanya McIver –
After Year 10 at Mundubbera, I went on to Ipswich Girls Grammar for Years 11 and 12. Then went to Lorraine Martin College, Brisbane for 12 months and came out with a Diploma of Tourism and Travel. Unfortunately jobs in the travel industry were few and far between, so I worked as a receptionist/typist for a mining company in Queen Street, Brisbane for 3 years, until I was retrenched.
Next job was at Eagle Farm, Brisbane as a receptionist/typist for an International Distribution Company, which sold everything from tissues to packing tape. Worked there for almost 2 ½ years, then resigned and moved back to Mundubbera with my boyfriend Andrew to work in the Council Office. We lived on Mum and Dad’s property and I worked at the Council for just over 9 years, working with Rates, Cemetery records, Accounts Receivable and town promotions. During this time in Mundubbera, Andrew and I were married on 14 February 2004.
Resigned from Council in late 2004 and Andrew and I moved to Gympie. I worked in Office Administration/Reception for an abattoir, which certainly taught me a lot! July 2005 saw us moving to Burrum Heads where we have bought the General Store, Newsagency and Post Office This is where we still live, and hope to stay for a few years.
We have no children, Andrew does, so I have two stepchildren, Rebecca and Trent and we have our dog Minty, who is almost human. atj04@optusnet.com.au

After finishing year 10 at Mundubbera, I went to Rocky Grammar for years 11 & 12, followed by a year at home on the property, during which I applied for a 2 year Assoc. Diploma (stock & Meat Inspection) at Gatton College. I started at Gatton in 1990. After a fairly quite year in Eidsvold, Gatton College was great!!! Parties every night of the week etc – don’t know how I passed actually. After graduating, I came home again for a few years until 1994 when I went to the US for 12 months on a agriculture exchange program. More fun/ partying etc. (as you do at that age!!) Got to see a fair bit of the ‘States, Canada and Alaska.’ I came home in Feb ’95.
In 1996, we (ie parents & I ) purchased “Kerwee” a 15500 acre cattle property between Eidsvold and Mt Perry. I moved to Kerwee to live about 1999 and have been there ever since. In Nov, 2001, I met my Fiancé Trudie. She moved in last year and we are planning to marry in October this year. And that’s about it!!!

Sarah (Colbert) Dulley-
Getting the invitation to the 30yr reunion of the Mundubbera preschool was certainly a blast from the past. My family & I left Mundubbera in 1980. I was in grade 4.
Upon reflection about my experiences of preschool, I can remember moving form the old kindergarten to the newly built preschool. I remember thinking how lovely it was. Everything was new and it had a great outdoor play area. It’s a bit scary to think that was thirty years ago. So what have I been up to?
Well, we moved to Brisbane half way thought 1980. I went to Oakleigh SS for the rest of my primary school years then moved on to St Margaret’s for High School in 1984. After high school I had a year off and then furthered my interest in Music by completing an Arts Degree in Music. Ever since I was a little girl I had thought of myself as a teacher so in 1994 I completed a Grad. Dip Ed and became a Primary School Music teacher. After a couple of years of teaching I completed a Masters in Ed with the thought of furthering my career. I was teaching at Jimboomba SS until the end of last year when I transferred to West Morton Region. I will begin teaching at Dinmore & Riverview SS in July.
In 1994, I met my husband. We married in 1998. At the end of last year I had a joy of giving birth to our beautiful daughter Georgia Emily Ann. We hope to have one more Baby.
Where to now? Who’s to say. My husband Scott is hopefully going to ordained into the priesthood in the not too distant future.(I don’t know if you all remember my father was the Anglican Priest. You’d think I would know better!) Once he is ordained we could be moved anywhere in diocese. After I have finished having babies and they’re old enough to go to school I think that I will pursue being a Deputy Principle. We hope to travel and see different parts of the world. But for now, I am happy raising our daughter, enjoying our family and friends and being present in the moment. Go well. Sarah

Andrew Dunning- (1979 grade 3 to 1984 grade 8)
Having made many friends in the five years while living in Mundubbera, it was sad day when my family & I departed for Inglewood. I then called Inglewood ‘home’ for the next 2 ½ years, where I completed studies to grade 10, before moving to Tannum Sands where I completed senior studies (in Gladstone) Thereafter, I attended UQ, in Brisbane, where I was awarded a Bachelor of Commerce. Since then, I have also furthered studies at USQ, in Toowoomba, where I now live with my parents.
As some of you may be aware, I had some health issues since grade 10 that have made it increasingly difficult to undertake employment. However, I do purses my keen interests in computing and this has lead me undertaking a couple of voluntary roles in two different not-for-profit organisations.
Thank you to Alicea and Camille for their huge individual contributions towards organizing the reunion, everyone who made the effort to attend and finally everyone who helped shape my future and contribution to my memories while a student at Mundubbera State School. Looking forward to catching up with you all.

David Becker -
After leaving school I worked around the orchards at home and played footy with the Tigers. I played in the winning U17 grand final side on the 21Aug88 and the next day I left home to join the Navy at HMAS Cerberusin Victoria for basic recruit training and specialist training as a Radio Operator.
Upon completion of my time at CERBERUS I was posted to HMAS Harman in Canberra where I worked for 6 months. In December of 1989 I was then posted to Western Australia to join my first ship HMAS Moresby which was a survey ship conducting surveys of the Northern Parts of Australia. After spending 18 months onboard the ship I was posted to Darwin for the first time and fell in love with the place due to its laid back atmosphere and everybody’s easy going attitude. One of the favorite sayings up here is that NT stands for Not Today, Not Tomorrow, Not Tuesday and Not Thursday cause no one is ever in a hurry. I spent 2 years working at Navcommsta Darwin then posted to HMAS Balikpapan which is a landing craft that works a lot with the Army dropping them off on a beach or in a river somewhere so that they can practice finding their way home. After 3 years posted there I have had numerous sea and shore postings in the Darwin and Cairns areas enjoying all of them most of the time. I have recently Sep 2005 joined one of the new Armidale Class Patrol Boats in Darwin and am currently involved in what is called a workup phase to put the boat and its crew through its paces to make sure that what we have asked for in the new boats is what we have received.
Personally I got married in April 1996 to Kim Houlihan and we have 2 children, Braydon who is 7 and Ashleigh who is 5. They are both loving school as you all No doubt remember I to used to love so much (NOT) but anyway they do so its All good there. I no longer play any sort of football due to having to have my Knee rebuilt three times in the last 10 years so now I just play good old fashioned Pub sports like pool, darts, cards and every now and then I like a game of golf Cause you can have a beer while doing that as well. Sorry I could not make to the reunion which I sure u will all have a good time At but I am currently at sea so there was not much I could do about it OOROO for now
