Marleen (Seth) Markey,Kris (Slater) Bradshaw, Clinton Smith, Jason Smyth

Marleen (Seth) Markey -
I attended school in Mundubbera from July 1983 (year 7) until the completion of year 10 in 1986. I completed year 11 and 12 at Gayndah State High School. After completing year 12, I worked for the National Australia Bank in Hervey Bay for twelve months. After that twelve months I returned to studying and completed a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and Banking & Finance at USQ in Toowoomba. Professionally I worked as the Management Accountant for Heritage Building Society Limited and during that time completed my CPA qualifications.
My husband Errol and I were married in Mundubbera in April 1993, and we still continue to call Toowoomba home. Errol is an electrician by trade and is currently the Production Manager of a polystyrene manufacturing plant. I am currently a stay at home mum. We have three beautiful boys William 7, Thomas 5, and Nicholas 3. William is in Grade 2 and Thomas is in Prep at St Saviour's Primary School. Nicholas and I have a good social life and we are enjoying our time at home together.
My parents, Fred and Christine Seth and my sister, Monica still live in Mundubbera. My brother David lives with his family in Brisbane.

Kris (Slater) Bradshaw –
I attended Mundubbera State High School from 1984-1986 (Year 8-10). On completion of Year 10, my father became ill quite suddenly and it was necessary for my family to move to Brisbane. I completed Year 11 and 12 in Brisbane and then went on to complete two degrees - Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Queensland. In between study, I travelled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. In 2000, I met me future husband, Andrew, and we married in 2003. I am currently working for QLD Health - Redcliffe Community Health Centre, as a Social Worker - I work with children, young people and families on a range of issues, and have a particular interest in supporting women (and their families) experiencing Postnatal Depression. I've come to the conclusion that I must miss country life, as we are now living on acreage on the outskirts of Brisbane

Clinton Smith -

Jason Smyth –
I left Mundubbera in 1986 after completing primary school at Mundubbera State School and Year 10 at Mundubbera State High School. I moved to Rockhampton where I completed Year 12 while boarding at the Rockhampton Grammar School. When I finished school I studied in Rockhampton at the Central Queensland University obtaining my Bachelor of Business Degree. After finishing Uni, I began working in the Banking Industry from 1993-1996 and now continue working in the same field, however I have moved to business banking and commercial leasing. I have been with business banking for the last ten years and really enjoy it. Coming from a small town has proved to be a great advantage as most of our major clients are from rural areas.
In 1992 I met my wife Melissa, who is a local of Rocky (I’m still not classed as a local – it’s not been 20 years yet!) and we married at St Joseph’s Cathedral in Rockhampton in 1995. We built our first home in Gracemere and moved in that same year. We had our first child, a daughter Martha in 1997. After that our first son, named Thomas was born in 1999, then came William in 2001 and finally – and I mean finally, our fourth child, a daughter Bridget was born in 2003!
As you can imagine the last nine years has at times flown by and at other times (like five nights in a row of being up with sick children) dragged slowly by! The kids are now aged 2, 4, 6 and 8 years and I think most people, including their Mum, agree look pretty much like their Dad (poor kids!).
We still live in Gracemere and last year began our own business, “Picture Perfect Jewellery” which is taking up almost all of our time at the moment. We try to get back to Mundubbera a couple of times a year. The kids just love to visit Grandma and Poppa and love to go out on the farm. Now that the children are at school and have so many after school activities and lessons it’s hard to find the right weekend.
I hope that everyone is having a great time and that at least everyone is still recognizable to each other – if not, I hope it’s a change for the better! Time does do crazy things! Good luck and have fun!
